Government agencies, corporations and the
general public are concerned about the protection and preservation of their
environment. In the past, strict adherence to regulatory requirements was
considered to be good environmental protection. Today, companies and
governments are expected to demonstrate more than just the bare minimum and in
fact are expected to be proactive in their policies.

quality, this means industry has to recognize that there are improvements to be
made on many atmospheric issues, and governments have to realize that a
holistic look at an industry may identify a mitigation strategy that will
co-control emissions and will likely produce a healthier Canadian
industry.
